As is well known, polymer materials are prone to aging, so it is important to pay attention to protection during use. The manufacturer of diethyl Methylmalonic acid said that in order to enhance the light aging resistance of polymer materials or delay the light aging process, light stabilizers were added before the processing and molding of polymer materials, so that materials with higher performance could be obtained according to the light aging and thermal aging mechanism of polymers.

The manufacturer of diethyl Methylmalonic acid stated that light stabilizer is a reagent that can inhibit and delay the photoaging process of polymers. There are different types of light stabilizers based on their functional characteristics:

uv absorber

UV absorber can absorb UV radiation energy before polymer. At present, the commonly used UV absorbers are salicylate, benzophenone, Benzotriazole, acrylonitrile derivatives, triazine compounds, etc. They can effectively absorb ultraviolet rays with wavelengths ranging from 290 to 410nm. It has good thermal and photo stability and solubility with polymers, is non-toxic and inexpensive.

Energy transfer agent

Energy transfer agents can transfer the stimulating energy of polymers after being stimulated by ultraviolet radiation, also known as quenching agents.

They are mainly complexes of nickel and diamond, and their organic parts are substituted phenols and thiobisphenols. They can stabilize light by transferring energy through resonance. For example, 3, 5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphosphate monoethyl nickel, 2-thiobis (4-tert-octylphenol) nickel n-butylamine, dibutyl dithiocarbamate Nickel formate, etc.

Light shielding agent

Light blocking agents can reduce the transmission of ultraviolet rays. They can block or reflect ultraviolet rays, preventing light from penetrating the interior of the polymer, thereby protecting the polymer. For example, some inorganic pigments, such as carbon black, zinc oxide, and titanium oxide.

Free radical scavenger

Free radical trapping agents can inhibit the generation of free radicals. They are a type of piperidine derivative and can also be regarded as amine compounds, which can capture the active radicals produced in polymer compounds. For example, 4-benzoyl-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl ester, Phosphorous acid based (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl) ester, tri (1,2,2,6,6-pentamethylpiperidinyl), etc.
